Top 10 Muslim football players in the Premier League

As Muslims kick off their Ramadan which is a period of fasting for the loyal members, FCNaija will be looking at top 10 football players who are dedicated members of the religion.
The Premier League is known for being one of the most diverse football divisions in the world and there are plenty of Muslim football players currently plying their trade in the English top flight.
There are high-profile Muslim footballers in the Premier League and the list includes some top Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester United stars. 
You may be surprised at some of the names on the list below:
10. Kurt Zouma (Chelsea)
Kurt Zouma currently plies his trade for Chelsea in the Premier League. The France defender is a firm favourite
amongst Blues fans and has proved himself under boss Antonio Conte.

09. Marouane Fellaini (Manchester United) 
Marouane Fellaini is a midfielder for Manchester United. The Belgium international joined the Red Devils from Everton as David Moyes’ only signing in the summer following his appointment at Old Trafford.

08. Asmir Begovic (Chelsea) 
Asmir Begovic joined Chelsea from Stoke City in July 2015. The Bosnian goalkeeper has largely played second fiddle to Thibaut Courtois at Stamford Bridge thus far.

Yaya Toure has earned a reputation as one of the Premier League’s top midfielders. The Ivory Coast international joined the Citizens from Barcelona in 2010.

Mohamed Elneny joined Arsenal from FC Basel in January 2016. The Egypt midfielder has made more 40 appearances for his national team thus far.

Riyad Mahrez set the Premier League alight with his stunning performances for Leicester City as the Foxes won the title in 2015-16. The Algerian attacker was named as the PFA player of the year following his sparkling displays that year. An award which his former teammate, N'Golo Kante took home in 2017 while at Chelsea.
